It’s only a few weeks since the peak of the wildfires that devastated Napa and Sonoma county and already the Wine Country is bouncing back, that’s right, Napa and Sonoma open for business. I visited the area this week and although its still very fresh in the minds of everyone, the sense of community and getting back to business is amazing. I spoke to a lot of the winery employees and they want to let people know that they are very much open and urging people to come to the Wine Country.  It’s the perfect time to go as the fall colors are out in force right now. I think it might be my first time visiting at this time of year and its the most stunning i have seen it. Although the greens are still there, the yellows, reds, oranges are dotted all around.

If you would like to pay a visit to the Wine Country, we offer different options of tours all departing from San Francisco. Click here for more information or to make a reservation.

Domaine Carneros

The first winery i visited was Domain Carneros which is famous for its sparkling Champagne style wines. Their tasting room is open daily from 10am – 5:30pm where you can sample wines from both their sparkling and still ranges. The grounds of Domaine Carneros are absolutely stunning too, you can hang out with a glass of wine on their lawn or terrace or if its a bit chilly have a snack with wine in the lounge (12pm-5pm).

The next stop was Cline Cellars in Sonoma. The tasting room at Cline is open to the public from 10am-6pm daily. On the grounds of the winery you will find a pond with terrapins swimming around, a museum with models of all of the Missions up and down California, oh and they have donkeys. The offer either Tour and Tastings which require a reservation or just Tastings where you can simply walk up and sample 5 of their wines for $10.

It turns out when they’re not making bathtubs with water jets they are making wine and olive oil. Jacuzzi is another winery set in beautiful surroundings and a stunning building. Tastings are available 10am-5:30pm daily and the cost is $10 for a tasting of 5 wines, if you decide to purchase a bottle they will deduct the tasting fee for the price. On the other side of the entrance from the tasting room is the olive oil tasting. You can sample all different flavors including Jalapeno, Mango and more.
